So, which diet should you go for to keep you young and healthy? Paleo diet? High protein low carbo diet? Fat free diet? Sugar free diet? Vegan or vegetarian? Gluten-free diet? Some would say "who cares! I just eat whatever I want, whenever I want". But let me ask you a question, would you rather pick the right diet or the medicine (if it even helps)?
Is maintaining a healthy weight really that important? According to WHO (World Health Organization), most of the world's population live in countries where overweight and obesity kills more people than underweight. Diet related diseases like heart disease, hypertension, diabetes and cancer is one of the number one killers in this modern world. More people die of eating too much of the wrong stuff than those not having enough.
BeWellTy believes a BALANCED diet is the best diet one could ever stick to. Why? Because it is the easiest diet to practise as you don't go too extreme on any category of food. You could enjoy everything you adore as it doesn't eliminate any particular category of food from your diet.

What is healthy balanced diet? Here's some guide:
-
Energy intake should be in balance with energy expenditure. The more active you are, the more you can eat.
-
Fat should not exceed more than 30% of total energy intake to avoid unhealthy weight gain. Reduce saturated fat and stay away from industrial trans-fat.
-
Less than 10% of energy intake from free sugar which is about 50g (12 teaspoon) for a person of healthy body weight consuming 2000 calories a day, but ideally 5% (6 teaspoon) for additional health benefits.
-
Keep salt to less than 5g (1 teaspoon) a day.
-
At least 400g (5 portions) of fruits and vegetables a day. Potatoes, sweet potatoes, cassava and other starchy roots are not classified as fruits or vegetables.
In other words, keep everything in MODERATION. And you get to enjoy whatever you want, whenever you want. Stay tuned with BeWellTy, to enjoy the easiet healthy recipe you had ever try.
