An Eventful Car Free Zone

With the initiative of Penang government to provide a safe ride to cyclists by constructing cycling lane around Penang Island, cycling has become a famous activities for the local community. Whether is leisure rider or hardcore cyclist, one of the favourite spots to gather around for cyclist is the Sunday Car Free Zone - Beach Street. Project Occupy Beach Street is also part of Penang government cleaner and greener campaign. The initiative temporarily close streets to automobile traffic on every Sunday from 7am to 1pm so that people may use them for healthy and fun physical activities like dancing, cycling, walking and other social activities in order to reduce carbon footprint. This project has been around since 2011 and it's getting more and more interesting. Drop by one day to be part of the cleaner and greener community.
